When the power goes off to a television, the television will automatically revert to its "factory settings" which only allows "off air" or "antenna" signals to pass through to the television. To fix this you must go into the "menu" settings and switch the T.V. from "air" or "TV" or "antenna" setting to the "cable" setting. Once you have done this the channels will go above 13 again. If you have trouble finding this setting refer to your owner's manual or "Call For Service".
There are two common causes:
1. Your VCR or Recordable DVD is on and is blocking the cable signal, turn the VCR or DVD off and the signal will return.

This means that your cable has been damaged or deteriorated to the point where "off air" signals can easily enter the signal stream and weaken the cable signal. This can be very difficult to diagnose and repair, as the problem may easily escape detection. It is recommended that you "Call For Service".
